1  Future... / Feature Requests / ABONDED COLLANOS SUCCESFULLY on: August 26, 2007, 06:37:32 AM
Further to my messages above and in this forum, we have now successfully abonded  use of Collanos in our Organisation. Here are some of the reasons:

1) Out of 60 employees, 45 were not satisfied with their computer / laptop performance after installing collanos

2) The features and functionality was excellent. But toooo many limitations in tracking a work

3) Too many conflicts on the updates as majority of them update during their free time while offline the network. So, unless we get a non-Internet / local server for the same, it is not practical to use within a private network

4) will update more when I have time...

By the way...we have moved to SugarCRM Open source version.

2  Future... / Feature Requests / Color Coding Tasks, Exclusive access to few members, Copy or move between WSPs on: July 22, 2007, 09:38:59 AM

I have some roadmap points that may be useful:

1) In the Task object folder, it may be worth showing the progress in some kind of color, like 0% to 10% in RED color, 10% to 30% in ORANGE; 30% to 50% BLUE; 50% to 80% GREEN and 80% > in may be Some other color or user can define what colors he want.

2) Similarly tasks assigned to "me" should display in some yellow color

3) Cannot move or copy items (tasks etc., ) from Workspace to other Workspace. Some times, it is important to move task of a particular project to be moved to another project for some technical reason or when wrongly posted in a project.

4) There should be an option to make things exclusive. Example, in a project , I have many members including Project leaders, HR etc., The review process or documents or tasks relating to HR should be though available in that workspace; but should be visible only to HR manager and the Owner. So, owner or the Manager always has a choice while creating an item to make it exclusive; once done, it should then allow to choose the members in that workspace to be given exclusive permissions to access / edit etc.,  This way, I dont need create multiple workspaces for a single project like how I am forced now like; PROJECT A - ALL TEAM ; PROJECT B - ALL LEADERS; PROJECT A - HR AND MANAGERS ...etc..etc...

5) Calender functionality is missing. May be a single calender that can show all the tasks; deadlines; etc.

6) Option to schedule a meeting with the members of a workspace would also help/

Some more later to follow.

3  Product Support / Technical Support (English) / CANNOT ACCESS MY WORKSPACE FROM OTHER COMPUTER on: July 22, 2007, 09:36:28 AM
Hi Gil,

We have just started using Collanos and people have started loving it. However, three of us has a common problem here:

1) We use laptop where Collanos is installed normally. But once we are at work, we donot use laptop. We just connect the to the docking stations and whole of our harddisk on the laptop is shared privately to our desktops. Most of our applications are mapped to the z:\ (which is a share of the harddisk on laptop) like Thunderbird for mail, My documents etc., So, when we click on thunderbird application in desktop, it actually opens up the profile stored on the laptop harddisk.

I did not find a way to open my "Workspaces" folder that I created to store all my workplaces from the Collanos that I installed on my desktop. Either it asks me to move workplace or restore from backup or backup to a locaiton.....but I cannot see how to access my existing workspaces in the laptop from the Collanos installation on my desktop.

Need help.
