Hello,
I downloaded Collanos Desktop recently. After having installed it, I found many of the features really great.
There are two things, however, that I miss greatly: 1. a shared calendar, and; 2. a shared address book
For an entrprise-class, collaborative software (as stated in the Collanos Blog), I think these are musts.
The calendar should have the following, but not exclusive, features: a. private and public appointments/events; b. members of a group should be able to invite other members to an appointment/event; c. the latter should have the ability to accept, put on hold or refuse mentioned appointment/event and give a reason for the hold or refusal. The possibility to put comments would be a plus; d. link with the address book and other modules.
The address book should have the following, but not exclusive, features: a. private and public entries; b. groups; c. link with the calendar and other modules.
There are resemblances between Collanos Desktop and CodeX. However, each has features that the other does not have. For what I noticed, a graceful coexistence between the 2 software is hard to realise unless one of the 2 is only used for one feature (e.g. Collanos desktop for everything and CodeX for its calendar abilities).
Hope that what I wrote is more or less in line with the company's objectives.
The other needed features, but already mentioned in other threads: - possibillity to work on intranet/LAN; - log on/off feature.
Keep up the good work.
Best regards.
