can't click on windows (mac)

I opened an excel file by double clicking it in workspace. Switched to a couple of other applications and went back into collanos workspace.
Now, I can't get a window to the front (only get system beep). It almost looks like there is a hidden dialog box that waits for me to pick something. In fact, when I hit enter a couple of times, I can actually re-gain control and click a window to activate it.

Haven't figured out exactly how this happens, but thought to find out if others are having the same issue.
I tried to find that window by pressing F9 or F10, but can't seem to see that window.

I'd be willing to bet it is the same issue.  I have been running into the same problem and am using multiple monitors.  I am also using Spaces.

The dialog box seems to be behind the primary Collanos Workplace screen.  I have searched everywhere else and cannot find it.

Pressing enter twice answered the dialog box and came back to the primary screen.
