Creating a new Collanos Name

Hi,

My name is Jordan and I have used Collanos workspace before. I recently reinstalled Collanos on my computer and it still recognizes my old name of a workspace I had joined a few years back. However, I want to create a new name and a new workspace. The new workspace thing I can get and do on my own, however, I'm trying to find out where I can create a new name on the same computer and some how sign out of my old name, if this all makes sense. I look forward to hearing from anyone regarding this issue. I don't have much time, so a prompt response would be greatly appreciated!

Jordan,
since you need a fast reply here my quick answer.
"Your" Collanos Name actually (at the moment) is the name of your specific installed workplace with its set of workspaces. It is possible to install a second workplace with its own workspace set on the same computer using a different Collanos Name for it. I am not sure if that makes sense for you.
Changing Collanos names cannot be done by Collanos users.
One quick workaround is to keep all workplace data (all its spaces) ready on another installation on another computer. Then only after being sure you have all data backed up somewhere (the complete workplace set on the second machine is a backup :-) )  to uninstall the unwanted workplace, delete its data directory, do a new installation requesting a new Collanos Name for it and invite that user (new Collanos Name) to all spaces. Through mail or here you can then ask Collanos to delete the old name from the user directory.
As mentioned above theoretically you can do the second installation in parallel on your machine. If you do that you must be very careful since you have to properly distinguish which Collanos Name you use starting which instance of Collanos. Never use a Workplace with a wrong valid Collanos Name/Password combination.

If you can wait a bit longer I will check whether we can easily support a name change from our side and come back.

New Information:

I should also mention that the name I apparently have with Collanos is something I created but the workspace (or workplace) that I was in, was created by someone else. So do I need to talk with them as well to solve this issue?

Case Closed; not sure what made it but I was able to create a new name. I had contacted my friend who had me on an old workplace, maybe he removed me from it when I had e-mailed him to ask to do that. Anyway, all is well now. Thanks for the help, Peter!
