Title: Where did my files or hard drive space go? Tools that will help.
Post by: Steven Tedjamulia on February 16, 2007, 01:42:46 PM
If you want to find your files or find out where your hard drive space has gone you can use the following tools to help you understand what is in your hard drive and how much space is occupied by what.

Here are some tools that can help you do this:

Mac and Windows

Mac (This is the one I used)

So far we have not had problems with Collanos consuming hard drive space at an exponential growth.  But we have seen symantec, zone alarm, and wengo phone consuming hard drive space because they constantly write error logs to the operating system.  Some of these error logs can grow to 20gig plus.

In the case of ZoneAlarm (ZA) you can review the following post
http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=gen&message.id=34871

To get rid of this problem in ZA users should add the following IP addresses:
- 195.141.204.209
- 195.141.204.212
- 206.165.150.222

And open the port range 80, 9700 – 9800
Using TCP connection.
They should be opened both for inbound and outbound traffic via “Trusted Zone” option.

Let us know if you run into any such issues and think it is Collanos.  So far we have not had any incidents that point to Collanos.
