Title: Calendar and Address Book Post by: pdeli on March 09, 2007, 05:51:10 AM Hello,
I downloaded Collanos Desktop recently. After having installed it, I found many of the features really great. There are two things, however, that I miss greatly: 1. a shared calendar, and; 2. a shared address book For an entrprise-class, collaborative software (as stated in the Collanos Blog), I think these are musts. The calendar should have the following, but not exclusive, features: a. private and public appointments/events; b. members of a group should be able to invite other members to an appointment/event; c. the latter should have the ability to accept, put on hold or refuse mentioned appointment/event and give a reason for the hold or refusal. The possibility to put comments would be a plus; d. link with the address book and other modules. The address book should have the following, but not exclusive, features: a. private and public entries; b. groups; c. link with the calendar and other modules. There are resemblances between Collanos Desktop and CodeX. However, each has features that the other does not have. For what I noticed, a graceful coexistence between the 2 software is hard to realise unless one of the 2 is only used for one feature (e.g. Collanos desktop for everything and CodeX for its calendar abilities). Hope that what I wrote is more or less in line with the company's objectives. The other needed features, but already mentioned in other threads: - possibillity to work on intranet/LAN; - log on/off feature. Keep up the good work. Best regards. We always appreciate detailed information and this is being shared with our entire team. Will look into CodeX. Log-on/off coming up in about two weeks. Title: Essential: Calendar and Address Book Post by: alexmathew on April 30, 2007, 06:30:46 AM I would go as far as to say that to get our team to use Collanos, shared Calendar and Addressbook is essential.
Calendar must be in iCal format for easy import/exchange Addressbook should support WebDAV. We are highly satisfied but desperately missing the features mentioned above.
- Adressbook, - Calender (iCal - format would be great!) thanks for your great work hc |
