Multiple opening of a file allowed?

Writing a review of your piece of software, i ran into the next question:

John has added file X into the workspace. He opens it and is working on it. At the same time, Joe opens the same file.
* How can Joe see that John is working on this file?
* What if John & Joe re-upload the file? Or is the sync instantly?

A slightly different scenario: John opens the workspace on his laptop. He syncs everything. Then he takes his laptop in the train and is working on file X. At the same time, Joe (again) starts to working online at file X. When he is finished, John is at his destination, reconnect with internet (yeah, there's Wifi on that station) and uploads file X again.

Basically, i want to know if Collanos is working with some kind of In/Out or Asset system. This will require an automatic detection if a file is edited, "reserve-button" for people who want to go off line and some extra rules etc.

Currently we do not have in place  a system to control concurrent changes. The last user to make changes online overwrites the previous version. This is a major issue that will be addressed very soon through multiple new features.

The first feature will be the "Conflict Bin" which will allow you to fall back to earlier versions of a file that are kept saved in your workspace. The next features will include additional document management basics such as versioning and check-in/out mechanisms.

All these features will allow users to have better control of concurrent changes to files and other objects.

The final step will be once we go hybrid and offer a Peer-to-Peer AND server-based peer so that users' workspaces also have a centralized, hosted peer. This will allow Collanos Workplace users to enjoy the benefits of a distributed and centralized system. We call it P2P 2.0!

You guys rock  It's a great application and i wrote some words in dutch on my site  (www.aangeenbrug.org)!

A little question about the p2p 2.0 (everything is 2.0 nowadays ): will it be a pc where i have full rights or is a server with space and php running on it enough? This gives me, as an consumer (= i've no company with a pc 24/7 on or access too such thing), the possibility to use my host-space from my website for collanos.
