You need to do a MUCH better job of policing your forum areas. That people can continually get in and post porn URLs and anything else is ridiculous. You need to tighten up the posting of URLs so they cannot be used in a message. And you need a better way of checking out registered people who post here.

Thanks Mike.
The goal is to make this forum as quick and easy to post to as possible. Unfortunately, this exposes us to a lot of spam.

We try to remove spam postings as quick as possible and even have assigned certain Collanos members Moderator permissions to help us control this spam.
Should you be interested in getting these permissions, please let me know. We are very grateful to our community's support.

One way to do this is to ask more questions when a person registers. Ask legitimate questions. Most spammers will not take the time to answer a lot of questions just to post one time. Make sure  that you are block the IP address of the spammers (even if the address could change to a legitimate person). I frequent many forums and I have not seem the amount of porn and other unassociated postings that I have here. It makes you look very unprofessional in the eyes of business people. If I had females on staff I would not let them use this forum even if  their job required it.

Tweak your forum software to stop the spam. Deleting the spam is much harder than preventing it. If this forum software does not have spam preventing tactics then you need to change forum software.

I do not know where you are located. Is this type of thing more acceptable in your country?

At the current time I do not have time to be a moderator. Thank you for the offer. Maybe in the future.

Thanks Mike.
Will look into this.

We are in the U.S. and spam is indeed prevalent on many user forums but we still need to take measures to prevent it. We block spammers but they know how to come back and use new registrations.

Gil,

FYI:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?PHPSESSID=67d33e3243b00dca25c04066319dcbc9&topic=178757.0

If that version doesn't provide better spam-blocking, consider switching forum-software - it indeed doesn't look good and I have to agree, I haven't seen many business forums being spammed this much.....

Appreciate the advice. We are in the process of changing host so this is taking longer than we anticipated.
Most of the spam ends up in the General Discussions board so we recommend just try avoiding it...
Cheers,
