Got the docs back..

For all of you having trouble this is how I and another colleague managedt.  No guarantees...

Warning!
Do not Delete Collanos files und Document and Settings/.?.//Application Data/Collanos.
You should probably back this up to a different directory to....
___________________________
Delete installation folder Program Files/Collanos
Start>Setup>Software> Deinstall Collanos

Reinstall V1

__________________________

I tried installing the old version without deleting Program Files/Collanos and kept getting error messages and small heart attacks while the application didn't start.  My colleague deinstalled using
Start>Setup>Software> Deinstall Collanos

and it worked for him.  I tried it and it worked for me.

Off now to move my docs out of Collanos and back to an app that doesn't convert my files to inaccessable binaries and lock me out with new updates - or eventually pricing model.

Good Luck

Thanks ryanomara and sorry for the trouble you are having.

Great work-around, I must say in restoring your files.

Moving to the CUD (Central User Directory) will allow users to benefit from additional new features such as being able to invite other members even when they are offline.
Files are stored in encypted binary files as part of the security features Collanos provides to users, seeking to protect their data from being hacked/accessed.

Regarding our business model, the base Collanos Workplace will always be free. No hidden agendas. Once we launch premium features, users will be well aware of this and need to opt in to subscribe to these services. Simultaneously, the free version will continue to expand and include more features and enhancements.

Yes, is to slow the new version, I will back to 1_0... To open a file less than 500k my machine take more than 5 minutes, before it take 5 seconds...  What is wrong in the new version....

Maybe if we install directly without and old version??

Sorry about this. This does not sound right. Files should open just as fast as version 1.0.

How I suposse, when I update fron Workspace 1_0 to 1_1 I get a bad behavor of my Workspace, too slow, but when I install the  new version prior to delete de file in program files (Archivos de programas in spanish) and also the collanos directory in my documents (Mis Documentos in Spanish)... The system work perfectly.

But you lost all your file, so you have to save each your file to another place...  and after back them to the new version

I think this may be related to old data which is causing conflicts with the new version.
Might be better off uninstalling any older Collanos versions that you have and reinstalling the new version from our website.
If you created a Collanos name and password, please still use them and be sure when prompted to link to the data folder where you have your Collanos data.

If you do not have critical data in your old workspaces, it may be even better to create a new data folder and start this also from scratch.
