Updating File Objects
The process of updating File objects is different from updating Collanos Business Objects.
Since File Objects are generated in their respective applications, e.g. MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat, updates take place within the applications themselves.
Collanos Workplace allows you to open the file from the application itself, make the changes and then save the revised file to your workspace.
- To modify a file, highlight it, right-click and select the "Open" option.

The respective application opens, which in this case would be MS Excel.
- Once you make changes to the file and return to your workspace, you are prompted whether or not to save the changes to the workspace.
If you save the changes, the "Modified by" and "Modified date" fields are updated.

Team members are made aware of the updated content via the red markers that cascade from the object up to the workspace level.
