Title: Collanos Workplace 1.0.3.16 - Release Notes Post by: Gil Heiman on July 13, 2007, 11:59:52 PM Release Notes for 1.1.16 Maintenance Release, in the product referred to as ‘1.0.3.16’
The following issues have been resolved: 1. Opening objects using enter key doesn’t work When a user selected a Task or a Note and used the enter key to open it, the object would open and close immediately after that. 2. Cannot see text and buttons on Linux user interface The Linux user interface contained several windows where users couldn’t clearly see all the buttons and text. The affected visual controls and/or spaces between the elements have all been fixed. 3. Problems opening Task/Note that contains link to other object When opening a Task or Note object using double-click – and the description field of the Task or Note contained a link to another object at the top – the Task or Note would not open. Instead, the object referenced by the embedded link would open. 4. Installer - data folder directory - insufficient validation It was possible to specify a not existing drive for the data folder. The installer would finish its work properly, but the application wouldn’t start. 5. Users upgrading from WP 1.0 to 1.1 are confused with new "Collanos Name" concept Many users that are upgrading from a previous (1.0) version to the new 1.1 version, are confused with the new Collanos Name concept. Mainly, users think they already have a Collanos Name and try to enter it. Additional explanations have been added to the dialogs. 6. Proxy settings not accessible from Registration screen A new proxy settings dialog has been added and linked with the initial registration screen. Users with a proxy server environment can now comfortably enter the required settings during the initial registration. 7. Replicating large sets of real-time replicas may lead to application hanging In rare situations when some users would add hundreds of small files at once, the application could run out of system resources and hang. 8. Problems after auto-update process After the automatic update process when the Workplace is being restarted, we were having problems. The Workplace process would go out of control and its memory increase endlessly. After killing the process in Task Manager and restarting the application, the system would perform OK. 9. Not needed replicas should be deleted from database Replica entries in the database of the replication subsystem were not being deleted, even when they were not needed anymore. 10. High CPU problem A number of system-internal inconsistencies could lead to a high CPU usage levels. Several improvements have been implemented to fix these issues. 11. Workplace data path location not updated after specified in User Not Found dialog If a user chose "Fresh Install" in the “User Not Found” dialog and also specified a new data path, the application would still use the old data path location after a restart. 12. Not possible to log-in in offline mode It was not possible to login and start Workplace in offline mode, i.e. without an internet connection. An error box appeared stating connection problem with CUD. WP should have nevertheless remained accessible using "local logon". 13. Uninstall survey is called During the update process using the installer, the “uninstall web survey” was called. This survey should only appear when the user fully uninstalls the product from his computer using the uninstall function. In case of an update, this should not happen. 14. Language setting is lost After performing an update, the language preference settings were not applied properly. 15. Collanos Name restrictions For new users a new Collanos Name restriction has been implemented during the initial registration process. A Collanos Name can only contain alphanumeric characters plus the dot. Blanks and other special characters are no longer permitted. Collanos Names of existing users will be migrated later. Users experiencing high CPU consumption soon after the update are advised to let the application run for a while as the application is cleaning up old, unused data files.
