Title: use in Technology department school district
Post by: hcarver on March 27, 2008, 12:37:10 AM
I'm the Director of Technology for windsor unified school district in California and i have been looking for an open source product like this for years. One of my Network engineers found this and i'm extremely happy. We just started with it but it works great.

We are a novell shop, using open source software and adding more. no more Microsoft office using open office, have implemented and continue to implement thin clients running open SUSE desktop  with citrix.

I would like to see a calender feature and a project road map feature included.

Thanks,
Heather Carver

Thanks for sharing this positive feedback. We are excited to see adoption in school districts and are committed to address key requirements.

Calendaring is an often requested feature and we are definitely going to improve this area. In the next releases (sometimes this summer) you will begin to see first improvements to our Task Management. We will add additional types of Task objects, and continue to improve the overview/manageability/visualization of tasks. This will facilitate project management work. We also plan to add alarming. It won't be a "full-fledged traditional groupware calendar", but rather an improved Tasks, Meetings and Appointments management tool with time-line visualizations. To address the more traditional calendar needs, we would rather offer integration into existing solutions, using open interfaces with synchronization.
