ubuntu 7.10 phone will not start

We are using Collanos Workspace to support small teams and so far it works perfect...
So I decided to try out Phone beta. It installed OK under Ubuntu 7.10 but then it wont start...

I found this error message in log-info.txt:
ERROR: ld.so: object './libQtDesigner.so.4' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

Since there is no libQtDesigner.so.4 in the Collanos Phone installation directory I though I would supply one - I copied Ubuntu's installed version which is 4.3.2 but then I get this message:

./CollanosPhone: symbol lookup error: ./libQtDesigner.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZN14QObjectPrivate15checkWindowRoleEv

And This I'm afraid is too much for my skills...

Hi, I had the same problem on my Ubuntu system. With the phone some libraries are delivered that conflict with Ubuntu.  Development will address this problem. Meanwhile if you want to use Collanos Phone on Ubuntu as a workaround just delete the following files in your Collanos Phone Program Directory:
-libpthread.so.0
-libc.so.6
-libdl.so.2

The phone will then start and work properly on Ubuntu.

One remark: There is a minor issue in the display of messenger windows under Linux. It will be addressed in the next version of the phone.

Now Phone Beta 2.0 version is available for download. It must be start and work on Ubuntu,SUSE,Fedora  without problem.
