I am asking my students to use Collanos for a virtual project in their class.  I have one student that has an unusual problem.

She has installed Collanos (windows), but when she clicks on the icon to start the program, it starts to load but it does not come up.  The icon appears in the SysTray, but before she can even log in the program closes.

She has tried uninstalling and re-installing the software with no luck. She did get the software to work on a different computer, but not on the laptop she wants to use.

I'm not sure if this is the reason for the problem, but she does remember when she installed Collanos for the first time and started to run it, Windows asked if she wanted to block access.  The first time, she said "yes to block the program."  On the install that works, she said not to block access.  Even after uninstalling and reinstalling, she hasn't been asked the same question again.  Again, I'm not sure if this is the reason for the problem, but I thought I would mention it in case it is a clue. 

Any ideas or thoughts about a fix or workaround?

I am now actually having a similar problem as the one I described earlier by a student in my class. 

Collanos will no longer start for me.  In the preferences, I modified the directory for Collanos to use for the workspaces.  Now, when I click on the icon, it pops up in the SysTray momentarily and then goes away with Collanos never opening.

I cannot get back into the preferences to change back the location of the folder.  Is there a setting somewhere else I can try to see if I can get Collanos to open again?  Any thoughts would be helpful!

So I was able to figure out a workaround to my own problem.

1.  Uninstall Collanos.
2.  Reinstall Collanos and select the "Custom" installation option rather than Standard.
3.  Change the location of the installation and data directories.

Collanos then opened and worked just fine.

I'm facing the same problem

Collanos did work fine, until I re-stared it. Since then it does not start any more. I have done the above steps (un-install, re-install, ...) but I still face the same problem. The application icon shows in the system tray and after a couple of seconds it goes away again.

Is there anyone out there that can help ?
