Hello Collanos Support
I have installed Collanos with SUSE Linux 10.1 and KDE and have trouble starting it. It looks like there is a problem with the Java environment. Is there anything I can do?
Regards
Laurin

Hello Laurin,  we have seen such an issue with other installations.
Collanos by default installs Java Runtime 1.4.2 in a subdirectory /jre of  the application directory (e.g. /home/user1/Collanos).
In the workplace.ini file in the application directory the path to this JAVA runtime is preset.
The entry there is:
-vm
./jre/bin/java

Since with SUSE 10.1 we found that our pre-installed Java Runtime 1.4.2 does cause problems as the one you mentioned, we recommend to use Java Runtime 1.5 as delivered with SUSE 10.1.

To fix this issue, we:
1. install the newest Java version delivered with SUSE 10.1
2. identify the the path to the newest JAVA runtime version  in the directory /usr/java
3. change the workplace.ini entry to:
-vm
/usr/java/<java version>/bin/java

Hope this helps.

Peter, it was the issue with the Java version. Pointing to 1.5 it works. Thanks.
