Mac OS X 10.4.9, Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz
It takes about 1 minute for WP to startup and another 1 minute for it to shutdown - and the WP menu is still visible during the Shutdown - is it this slow/fast on other platforms? Just an informal survey.

Dell Insirion 6400 Notebook
Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz. 2GB Mem.

Startup takes about 20 - 25 Secs. Shutdown about 10 -15 secs.

I patched with the latest update and now my startup and shutdown times are down to about 30 seconds - great!
