Hello everyone,

one of the most important things while implementing Collanos is that a team has to understand a cultural change in its work habbits.

As we have learned it is key that Collanos will be started automatically when the system comes up. Not doing so will lead to the situation that team members will really not get the major benefit out of the tool.

As Collanos is not performing any kind of service installation we simply included Collanos in the Startup folder of Windows user accounts. It's some kind of work around but at least it works.

Go for collaboration
Go for Collanos

Music to my ears Heiko!

A cultural change is required to truly take advantage of what Collanos has to offer.

Currently, work teams default to email (and Instant Messaging to some extent) although email is NOT a team-friendly application.

Indeed, you can cc all team members to an email, however, once correspondences start taking flight and endless emails get sent back and forth, there is no way to manage all the content and address high priority issues.

The act of Peer-to-Peer sharing replaces the need to actively send team content to members as your content is shared with them in the background (proactively).

This might not be useful for one time emails to friends or family, however, in the context of intensive teamwork and keeping everyone in sync, this is fundamental to the success of the team.

We believe that once Collanos users start using the application, they will find it hard to go back to email as a form of correspondence with team members.

Regarding the application initializing upon starting the computer, we will be separating the Collanos engine from the user interface in a future release. This will allow the system to start automatically at a minimal level when the computer is started (similar to Skype).
We realize this is a key requirement from users and are gathering feedback from users currently to finalize it.

By the way, your current work-around is great!

Cheers,
Gil
