Using kubuntu 7.04, my XLS files open in gnumeric when I use the 'open' option from the workspace.  I need them to open in openoffice.org.  I'm not sure if this is a Java issue directly, or what, but it's a huge annoyance.  I don't see any way to edit the default app handlers.  How would I do this?

thanks!

Hello,
actually files in Collanos Workplace are opened using the Eclipse platform's functionality. It just launches the program associated with the file in the operating system.
These associations are defined in Ubuntu rather than in Collanos Workplace. Please check what happens in your Ubuntu installation if you open a .xls file clicking it in the file system. Please let me know if the same happens or if you need advice where in Ubuntu to change the association of applications to file extensions.
We log the requirement to put an "open with" option into Collanos Workplace.
Thanks for your feedback.
Regards
Peter
