started a new project today with a colleague. We're both consultants working most of the time separately but in this project we want to collaborate (also remotely). Collanos was chosen over Groove but mostly because it's free (and so no administrative hassle about permission to buy a licence and such) and my colleague has a Mac....
Other than that the stability of Collanos (at least so far of course) is a major issue. We are going to use it in a production environment not a test environment.
We have set up a workspace and added files and tasks and discussions. No hassle whatsoever. Of course, being newcomers, we have our questions and requests.
- What we miss, of course, is calendar. We have decided to work around this via our own calendars but it would a valuable addition to have one, especially when it could be synced with sunbird and/or outlook.
- Also we would like to see a screen which would present itself on startup with the additions/revisions/deletions that have taken place while we were offline. I know that the directories have a special mark but a total view with all changed and/or new and/or deleted (greyed-out?) files, added with the latest messages in the discussions is better, we think.
- a project log would be interesting.
- a time line for the tasks.
- a screen where the progression of the tasks can be overviewed

I think we will come up with more suggestion while using the application.
One issue concerns the initial installing procedure. I wasn't aware (but perhaps I have not read the documentation properly) that a code was going to be sent to me. This was rather puzzling, especially since the email message came some 5 minutes later.
In due time I might be interested in participating with making a translation (Dutch) if this is possible. I don't know how much work that would entail and whether you have 'language packs'.
