This issue is much like the one that was last reported via the forums on November 23, 2007 with a slight variation.

I am running the latest version of Workplace. I first set it up on two of my computers here at home to test it out. I invited one to share with the other, and it worked. It took 3.5 hours to sync up, but it did work.

So I deployed this out to my employees. There are three others that need to get this set up, and we're set out all over the U.S.

One of them downloaded the program today, latest version also. She's running Windows XP SVC PK 2. She also has a Windows firewall enabled. Twice I invited her to share my workplace, and twice she accepted.

But the synchronization did not ever start. We left it going for five hours, and never was anything uploaded to hers or downloaded from mine. I was able to receive messages from her, but I was unable to send messages to her. Her icon is also a very light green.

My other staff members have not tried theirs at this time. We're all waiting to get this resolved. This was an issue that was to be fixed with version 1.2, so I'm wondering if there is a firewall setting that she needs to tweak, or if things are just wonky.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

I read the entire tech support forums. lol Boring read, but we found the bug. A post was made on May 24th, 2007 regarding the issue of user synchronization not starting if auto accept invitations is on. The link is here: http://forum.collanos.com/index.php?topic=896.0.

I had Poe turn off auto accept, then re-invited her to the workplace, and it started right up.

This is a bug that you may wish to address in the future as it does get quite irritating. We were close to looking for alternative solutions because we were unable to sync up. I am glad that I found the above referenced posting.

Hello,
Good to hear that everything is ok.
Actually synchronization doesn't depend on auto- acception - with unchecked box you just know that invitation is accept

Either way, all I know is that with it checked, synchronization wouldn't start, and with it unchecked, it did. Further, there are at least two other posts in the technical forums about this issue. Either way, I'm happy that we got it working.
