Hi everyone,

while trying to acceerate the usage of CW in different projects most often the question about versioning pops up.

I do believe that CW needs to support 2 things in this area. One is to support any kind of versioning tool - i.e. CVS - and second some kind of marker that a document is cuurently in use by one space member.

The reason for both is using CW as a platform in professional projects versioning of documents is somewhat key - espicially when working on documents that will be project work products and need approval at the end.

Being able to see that a document is in use by another user will prevent synchronization issues that at the end of the day will need some human interaction to be solved.

Any thoughts about it?

Regards

Thanks again Heiko.

Duplicate efforts of team members are indeed one of the main issues we encounter when speaking to users.
This issue will be resolved very soon with the introduction of a check-in/check-out feature that will alert members that someone else on the team is working on a given file (or object) and have a mechanism to lock the file.

Versioning is a separate issue which we will address soon after but the goal is to introduce an intuitive solution that will automatically version out the latest document/object as is in other popular applications.
We are still in the process of determining how to go about this process but encourage users, such as yourself, to share your feedback and suggestions as it will all be incorporated into the final solution.

Hope this addresses the issues you raised. If not, please let me know.

Thanks so much.
