Hi to anyone out there and hi to the COLLANOS Team,

this software is great. I am working with it for a couple of days and love it

But i have a question - of course i know that Collanos needs the Internet to run but will there be a feature in the near future to have the option to run Collanos on an internal server within a closed network??

The reason is if we use a lot of documents for share it could be faster to share them in the company network (reason could be size or just internal documents)- otherwise the the documents will be send through internet and back to company which take some time - of course if you use large documents.

My idea  or hint: There should be an optionmor switch to run Collanos in internal mode (only on internal server) and there should be a an extra switch or option for folders or documents which can be shared worldwide through internet(which are not allowed to be shared outside the company but within of it.

Best regards,
Adem

Thanks Adem and welcome to Collanos!

Running the application on an internal server/ LAN is something we will offer in the future for the reason you had mentioned, speed as well as security and other apparent advantages. How this will work, has yet to be determined. Your and other users' feedback is always appreciated.

1) hi there. I've just started to discover the collanos and i like the features very much.
I'd like to know has the "internal server" version been provided yet? I cant seem to make it work, how should i make the settings if that is already available

2) I can see that the related topic post was being indentified and posted for reference, but i would like to know how did you locate the relavant topic so efficiently? because i'd been trying to search for this topic of "internal server" and i read through a few posts until i finally found this.
How do you find by the "key word"?

Hi Xiao Joi,
The 'internal server' has not been released yet. This will take us a few more months. Can you tell me why you prefer to have the server installation?
On another note, we will be releasing the Chinese version soon.

Cheers,
Gil

hi Gil,
I'm the IT member in my corporate, i believe that Collanos is a great tool for us in order to keep our documents copies synchronise within the departments.
And the additional features like events history and discussion per project, and the group folders sharing are also very useful. But however, our company online using dial-up modem and the bandwidth at my country isn't very high. So if we were to use it under the online server option, we will be running pretty slow.
So that's why i'm hoping to see the "internal server" option.

By the way, i'd yet to get the answer for my question 2).

Thanks Xiao.

Sorry for not answering your earlier question. You should have access to the Search button on the above menu. You can enter keywords there. Whether what you are looking for will be found depends on the messages posted in the past in the forum.
Sometimes names users select on the forum are different even though they are referring to the same feature so it may be confusing and hard to locate, not knowing the official term. For example, 'internal server', 'LAN', 'hosted solution' are different names used to discuss this feature on the forum.
