I know there are some wonky things happening with the 1.2 rollout, but I haven't been able to get any inter-peer connection of any kind.

I have three computers, one Linux (recent Ubuntu), one Mac (Leopard), and one WinXP machine behind LinkSys router.  I have created three accounts in an attempt to test Collanos before roll-out to other team members.  Not once, in over a week, has a single invitation request or a shared folder appeared on any of the other machines.

One detail I've noticed is that all my Workspace clients show 0 b in traffic, but multiple kbytes out.  I can't find anything suggesting a router configuration change likely to work--except maybe port forwarding if I had only one machine, but with three forwarding seems like a non-starter.

Any help appreciated.

Did you perform all your tests with the new 1.2 release? Or was it a mix, maybe first on 1.1 and then on 1.2? In any case, we rolled out the new version 1.2 last Friday Nov 9 in the morning (CET), and yes, we had serious problems with our super peer infrastructure, which is basically responsible for presence and - in turn - invitations and traffic relaying. So it is very much probable that you were affected by it.

In the meantime, we seem to have fixed the problems yesterday night (http://forum.collanos.com/index.php?topic=1173.msg1912#msg1912), or roughly 6 hours before your post. Hence my question, are the problems still persisting at this moment? A short post here to share your results would be appreciated.

Should you still have issues, please use the built-in function in Workplace and send us the logs. Thank you.

This problem is persisting

Augh!

I am attempting to roll this out to three workstations. Some odd things are happening.

First, One of the stations is shutting down (I posted that problem elsewhere)

Second - I created a workspace on Computer 1. Then I created an account for my father (computer 3)

I sent an invite from computer 1 to computer 3 - A currious thing happened. Computer 1 said that computer 3 had accepted the invitation?? Hmm, I had done nothing on computer 3 AND that workspace was not showing up on computer 3......

Never mind - it all works now. It just takes about 15 min for invitations to go throught.

Found the problem--one of the machines was running 1.1, due to some installation directory issue or incorrect installation executable.  Problem solved for the present, as invitations flowed almost immediately upon upgrade.

Thanks for the help.

parkhays: Thanks for the heads up.

mccordllc2: There is a feature called "Auto-accept" which automatically accepts all invitations you are getting. It is "on" by default. If you don't like the idea, you can simply change it in the Tools/Preferences menu. We made the experience that this is preferable for most users to auto-accept and receive workspaces (e.g. compared to situations where you see the notification only much later, want to accept it , but because Inviter  went offline in the meantime, it would not replicate... etc.).

And yes, if you invite somebody to a workspace already pre-filled with content, it will naturally take longer to transmit.

Finally, to boost sync speed for users within the same LAN, you can set the upload/download bandwidth limitations to higher values. You find them also under Tools/Preferences in the "Connections" node (set it to Individual), then in the subnode "Advanced Bandwidth Settings".

After problems on all of our member's workspaces with 1.2, we decide to go back to 1.1. I uninstalled 1.2. My 1.1 installation was not overwritten when I installed 1.2, so I just started the old application. Then I uninvited and reinvited the other team members to our workspaces, but after 12 hours they still do not get the invitation (they also removed 1.2 and reinstalled 1.1, but their workspaces were overwritten when they upgraded, so they lost their data).

Is there some reason that other team members do not get the invitation?
