Hello John, and greetings from Zurich!
Collanos Workplace is built atop the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) framework technology. According to the release notes of Eclipse, it would actually run on Linux 64-bit GTK. See here
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/readme_eclipse_3.4.html#TargetOperatingEnvironments. Eclipse makes the 64-bit Linux version available as a separate set of libraries, which means that we in turn would also have to create a separate installer.
We would be willing to create a special build for you, so that we all can finally find out more about this whole issue. Unfortunately, right now don't have much free capacity to do all the extensive testing and QA, etc. on our end. Would you be willing to help us with some testing? The way I see it is this: We would build a special 64-bit Linux installer for you (actually an internal version of the forthcoming November release). You would run it on your environment (run it only as a test, not yet productively) and provide us some feedback. If everything goes smooth, great, but if some issues arise, you could send us the logs and other feedback.
Please understand that we are just about to release the next version of Workplace, and therefore the whole team is very loaded and under pressure, especially QA. The test as outlined above would give us a chance to find out if Workplace runs on 64-bit Linux with few efforts and without disruption to our current work. Let me know if you are interested. In the meantime I will advise our engineering to asses the steps needed to create the special installer.
