Folks

How about considering a MS Outllok Connector/Interface. Would be nice to have all that nice stuff (ie: Read 1400+ Contacts, 300+ Notes, Calander, etc) available in Collanos.....

Cheers

Interfacing with popular client applications is indeed on our product roadmap.
Later this year we will start releasing these options.

In the meantime, in order to keep Collanos Workplace as simple to use as possible, we are gathering from our users which of these integration points are the most important for them.
Can you list your top features?

Collanos has all the signs of being a breakthrough project... one with the potential to more or less "live" in!

A huge impetus for us and others who would like to do this would be for Collanos to be able to read .csv (or .pst) files from Outlook, by selecting them with the Callanos "Add Files" toolbar.

This would make a simple import into Callonos folders of corresponding Outlook Notes, Contacts, and/or Calender items (assuming that the Outlook-generated .pst or set of .csv items came only from a particular source type of Outlook folders).

Mozilla Thumberbird, I believe, has an open source solution for mapping and importing Outlook Contacts into structured universal formats -- perhaps Collanos could link to this converter when structured Outlook data is to be moved?

Hope this helps -- again , congratulations on an outstanding product.

Best,

Mark Frazier

I do not think the ability to open Outlook files is the way to go. I believe that an a simple button (add-on) in Outlook that would allow the user to simply select an item (email, calendar, task or contact) and then click a the button that would export the information to Collanos, then prompted to which folder within Collanos and then save. Simple, real time, and efficient.

I dond't see the necessity of an own calendar too. If someone uses one he has one. It would be nice to drag 'n drop cal events, vCards and eMails ... to collanos so that members could add them to their own apps.

Really? I tried but did not succeed. Is the any tuning necessary? (tb  2.0.0.14, cw 1.3.0.2). Does it work for Outlook too?

Collanos works with objects which are file type as for Outlook it has its own sway of storing letters.  For Outlook we can offer now only workaround now. Save outlook letters to the HD and drag or add them to Collanos workspace. In feature we are going to make possible direct collaboration between Collanos and Outlook.

Not far ago Thunderbird made new release, probably you use updated version now. Drag and drop worked on previous version. In next release we are going to make solution for new Thunderbird.
