Hello,
Thank you for such clear description. You have just described main principle of p2p technology, on which Collanos is based. Collanos application examine куые online space members on new information each time it goes online. Download occurs from any online peer, independently from file originator.
Let me also describe download process a bit. Collanos Work[lace have traffic monitor, which shows inside and outside traffic in KB. It is situated in the bottom of the Collanos window. Traffic Monitor shows summary traffic for all spaces. If file size is smaller than 100 KB - Traffic Monitor doesn't reflect such traffic. Download process speed depends on many aspects:your internet channel, internet provider server's load on current moment, Collanos server load, same aspects from other space member side. Information exchange occurs faster if space members are in one local network - then it happens directly inside local network. If you use firewall, even if all space members are in one local network, download speed are lover, cause firewall is additional transfer point with internal handling mechanisms. One of the possible optimizations that we can offer from our side, as Connections timeouts and Internet provider setting are not in our submission, is adjusting connection settings on Collanos instance. Please find detailed instructions on next link
http://forum.collanos.com/index.php?topic=1254.0 Also you may be with your space members in different local sub-networks, in such case file exchange also occurs through internet channel, not directly.
